Shih-Ching Wang's Obituary
Shih-Ching Wang passed away on October 25, 2018 in Sunnyvale, California.Shih-Ching suffered from an extended illness and was joined by his wife, son, daughter and grandsons preceding death. He was born August 1, 1926 in Yuan Lin, Chung Hua, Taiwan, to Yuan Yi and Tzu Rong (Shaw) Wang. Shih-Ching graduated from the prestigious Taiwan University with a B.S. in Economics.Shih-Ching married Chun-Chih Su on February 9th, 1949 and together they have 2 sons and 1 daughter. His primary occupation was in the banking business. He worked for First Commercial Bank in Taiwan for 30 years and retired as the Senior Vice-President of the Bank. Upon retirement from First Commercial Bank he became a Funding Board Member of Cathy Bank. He was the first born of a Taiwanese family and educated deeply in Japanese Culture/Traditions since Taiwan was then a Japanese Colony. This meant he bestowed great care to all his siblings/parents in a very traditional Taiwanese culture, yet in a manner that upheld the Honor and Values of a traditional Japanese family. He was the backbone of the family across three family generations. First, his father’s generation when he cared for all 9 siblings. Then in own generation when he raised his three kids. Then in the next generation upon the early death of his eldest son, Paul in 1997. He took the responsibilities of a fatherly figure towards his grandsons, Jack & William. All family members across these generations respect and love him. They experienced first-hand his Father’s heart for them. They admire him and appreciate his selfless care for them. His siblings praised him as one who lived a unique and rare life to complete the full circle of giving and receiving. He is a great father to Paul, Li-hua and Albert. He teaches by his actions, his love for others, and his devotion. In essence, his impact and upbringing empowered our ability to reflect his love and commitment to others.Shih-Ching is survived by his wife, Chun-Chih. His children Li-hua (daughter), Albert (son), Nancy and Wendy, two daughters-in-law; Grandchildren: Jack (Nancy- grand daughter-in-law), William, Christopher, William and Wesley. He is preceded in death by his eldest son Paul.
