Scott Cameron Baker's Obituary
Scott passed on Monday, September 2, 2019 at Mills Peninsula Medical Center in Burlingame with family members at his side. He was 45 years of age.Educated in San Mateo and Hillsborough elementary schools, Scott graduated from San Mateo High School, University of California at Davis, and University of Santa Clara School of Law and the University of Santa Clara Business School.Upon receiving his JD and MBA degrees Scott commenced his specialty of performing corporate counsel tasks in a succession of high technology companies in Silicon Valley, including VMware, Inc., Proofpoint, Inc., and CipherCloud Inc. His most recent professional affiliations included Paragon Legal and Adaptive Legal Group Inc.An avid sports enthusiast, Scott followed the A’s to Arizona for the Cactus League and enjoyed the Forty-Niners in both their San Francisco and Santa Clara stadiums. Scott participated in an adult baseball league in San Mateo for several years until broken bones, middle age, and time constraints intervened. Scott enjoyed interacting with nature as a hunter on his family’s interest in a Los Banos duck club, which he would describe to his more environmentally sensitive friends as, “extreme bird watching”.He is survived by his parents, Gary and Mary Lynn Baker of Hillsborough, brother Grant and his wife, Dania, of San Mateo, brother Clark and his wife Gina and their daughter Layla of South Carolina, and many cousins spread across the county.In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
