Samir Mathur's Obituary
Samir Mathur, 22, beloved son of Rajiv and Minakshi, and loving brother of Somya, passed away February 18, 2013. He was born on June 20, 1990 and grew up in Saratoga. He attended Saratoga High School from 2004-2008 and graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in Cognitive Science in June 2012.Samir was a kind, generous, and genuine young man. He was an accomplished athlete, a curious student, and an aspiring entrepreneur. Samir always loved the outdoors and would adventurously climb everything in sight. As he got older, his athletic enthusiasm grew, and he consistently went above and beyond in his dedication to wrestling and fitness. His friends would tell you that Samir was always there for them ' remembering birthdays and filling any quiet moment with interesting facts and stories. He had an outgoing personality and the ability to make everyone feel welcome.To his family, he was a gem and the light of their lives ' a breath of fresh air who always brought a smile to their faces with his jokes and good humor. He was a good listener, a patient son, and an incredible individual whose potential we lost too soon. Samir was loved by all and will be dearly missed.Thank you all for coming and supporting us through this difficult time.
