He was born on September 12, 1926 in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo City, Philippines. Parents: Leon Umadhay & Carmen Sorongon – deceased He attended at Lyceum University in the Philippines and he graduated in Law. He was a reserve Philippine Constabulary Officer by the rank of Major. He is also the operation NCO of Trafcon in Camp Crame. He was a member of Philippine Scout of WWII under USAFE. He was also a member of 2nd BCT PAFTOK during Korean War.In 1975 he attended the American Legion conference in Monterey CA. and migrated to the United States of America and worked in American Protective Service as a Sargent. He also became the President of Iloilo Circle Club in Sutter San Francisco CA. He loves to read newspaper and watched news everyday, played chess, mahjong and going to Reno. His favorite sports were watching boxing, football and basketball.On May 6, 1950 he was married to Florentina Silatory Umadhay for 65 years. They have 8 surviving children. The surviving children are Edgardo (married to Berlita), Napoleon (married to Teresa), Nilo (married to Consuelo), Susana, Cynthia (married to Andrew Neray), Theresa, Gemma and Alfredo (married to Lourdez). The surviving grandchildren are, Michelle, Kristina, Michael, Carlo, Sarah, Allou Marie and Ashley.A funeral wake service will be held on Feb 18th, Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Skylawn funeral home and memorial park at Route 35 at Highway 92, San Mateo, CA 9402. Tel# 650-349-4411 There will be a mass in St Finn Barr 415 Edna Street San Francisco CA 94112 at 10:00 a.m. The burial service will follow in Skylawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
