Sallie Wang's Obituary
It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Sallie Wang, who departed this life peacefully at the age of 94.
Born in China, Sallie courageously immigrated to the United States in the 1950s, embracing a new life with resilience and grace. She pursued higher education with great dedication and earned her master’s degree—an extraordinary achievement at the time, particularly as a woman and an immigrant. Education remained one of her core values, and she inspired those around her to pursue knowledge and live with purpose.
Sallie will be remembered for her wisdom, strength, and the gentle kindness she extended to all. Her life spanned nearly a century of change, yet she met every chapter with grace, intellect, and unwavering dignity.
In her final years, Sallie showed extraordinary resilience. Though bed-bound, she fought bravely for her life over the last three years, meeting each day with quiet courage and unwavering will. She was, and always will be, a fighter.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chin Ling Wang, with whom she shared a lifetime of love. Sallie will be laid to rest beside him, with her beloved parents at her sides—a final resting place surrounded by the love and family that shaped her.
A private memorial service to honor Sallie’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 22, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Pacific Chapel of Skylawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home. Burial will follow immediately after the service.
Sallie’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
