Ruthie, I loved her so very much for most of my life. Met her in SF Market. Which was the funniest moments of my life. Ruth and Doug were awesome people. Gave me sulk christening blankets for my cats. I was the kid they never had. I am just learning of her passing. She was beautiful classy and sassy. All her clubs. She really missed the children’s market until she found a new place at Skylawn Memorial Park. She loved her co workers and friends she made there. It’s true her and Nancy didn’t agree on much but we’re totally close to each other in their own special way. I’m feeling very sad but now she’s at rest finally planning fun times in heaven. I miss you so much 🙏

Ruth was the receptionist at Skylawn for many, many years. She had a very quirky personality and was loved by all. She arranged many social events. There was the very poplar Puffer memorial service. Puffer was a fish in the aquarium in the reception area that Ruth befriended and after his death she arranged memorial services for many years. The San Mateo Times ran an article on this unique event.
Other events included founding the “On The Hill” chapter of the Red Hat Ladies and the coffee club at Skylawn.
Ruth and her twin sister, Nancy, could be spotted at the 4th of July Parade wearing identical patriotic outfits and sipping Margaritas at Milagros. Nancy and Ruth disagreed on everything but they enjoyed dressing up.
Ruth had a life before Skylawn, but we didn’t know a lot about it, other than it was interesting. Her fun spirit lives on in those that knew her.
