Rudy Jim Lopez's Obituary
Those who knew Rudy were touched by his sense of humor, strong dedication to work, commitment to our Lord Jesus, and the overall fun he created when you were around him.
Rudy passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, at the age of 79. He lived a long and remarkable life, touching the hearts of everyone he met, and will be lovingly remembered by family and cherished friends.
He was born on September 25, 1946 to Manuel and Vera Lopez in San Bernardino, California. Just after High School, Rudy joined the Army in 1966 and proudly served for two years.
After his service, Rudy returned to Los Angeles and started his career in Law Enforcement. He married his wife Kathi in 1970 and had their son, Michael, in 1974. After that marriage ended in 1980, he met Maureen and moved to Northern California with Michael.
Rudy changed careers after moving and became a Mortgage Broker and continued in that career until retiring 30 years later. He proudly served with his church throughout his time in Northern California.
He will be remembered for his hearty sense of humor and his love of the outdoors, riding his motorcycle or driving his boat to the delight of those who joined him.
Rudy is survived by his loving wife, Maureen, and two brothers, Manual and Jim, and their families. A memorial service will be held at Skylawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, Highway 92 and Skyline Blvd., San Mateo, CA 94402, on March 11, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
The family invites friends to share memories and celebrate a life well-lived. Instead of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.
