Rudy you were a good friend. We both had an opportunity to be witnesses of each others life. I can attest that you were generous to a fault in all things. You were a loyal friend. From our first meeting at a cocktail party on the “Mighty Mo” to a wedding in Hawaii to colusion as “priates” on the high seas…ARRRGH !!! I can never again drink a good glass of wine, a Ramos Fizz or Don Fernando Tequila without a tear in my eye and a moment of respect for my Admiral. On behalf of my family to yours, I mourn our loss. You were one of a kind and as the song goes, “you did it your way” as others looked on. Karin, Debra & I may still have time to tell stories about our adventures with “Rudy the Great”. Rudy, you will truly be missed. There are many people who will get to say that Rudy was their friend or mentor, all at different stages of his life. My sympathies to all the Meiswinkel family. Rudy was an amazing person, and I will miss him. It was an honor to work for him and a privilege to be taught by him. I have never met a more interesting and multifaceted person as Rudy. His gruff exterior and colorful language made for memorable days. But for me, it was the times that we would huddle up in a room, pouring over an estimate and working shoulder to shoulder…he loved to teach, and I tried to absorb all I could. Many people knew Rudy by reputation, but I saw his kindness and generosity, his love for and dedication to his children, In short, a big hearted man. I will always be thankful that God placed Rudy and all the Meiswinkel Family in my life. Regrettably, I cannot attend the services, but I will be supporting you all in prayer. Sorry to know that Rudy will no longer grace this earth with us. Our condolences to his family. You are in our prayers for comfort. He was a kind, caring, generous and fun gentleman.
