Rozanne A. Clinton, a long-time resident of Redwood City, lost her battle with Parkinson’s disease on Sunday, October 20, 2019, at 4:30 p.m.Services will be held at Skylawn Memorial Park, Hwy 92 at Skyline Blvd, San Mateo, CA, 94402 on Nov. 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.Rozanne—Roz to family and friends—was predeceased by her husband Robert E. Clinton; parents Marciano and Refugio (Cuca) Avina; brother Roy, who was killed in action in the Korean War; first husband Valentine Vares; niece Robin Lynn Avina; sisters Amparo (Ampy) Decker, Joni Avina, Angelina (Angie) Avina; and brother David Avina.Roz is survived by three stepchildren: Robert E. Clinton Jr., Louise (Vivi) Clinton and Richard James Clinton; son Valentine (Val) Vares Jr.; brothers George Avina and Raymond Avina; sisters Melinda Berry and Raquel Lucille Withers; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, as well as many good friends.Roz was a Reiki Master, which she learned studying in Japan. She volunteered her skills at Sequoia and Stanford Hospitals, and also to her family and friends. As a youth, Roz was a candy striper and nursing aide.Roz worked for Bay City Screw and Bolt Co. in Redwood City, and completed her career working for the City of Palo Alto. Roz loved traveling with her husband Bob, who was an airline pilot for United Airlines, and together they traveled near and far. Roz and Bob were also members of the United Flying Club based at San Carlos CA airport. She was an avid skier until she skied into a tree and broke her leg.
