Roy Carlson Adams Sr.'s Obituary
Roy Sr. (November 9, 1934 – November 19, 2015) passed away peacefully in Sonoma, California after a very full life.Roy Sr. immigrated to the United States from Kingston, Jamaica in 1971. He was the embodiment of the American dream. He was a barber and the proprietor of Midway Barber Shop for 40 years. Although Roy Sr. was a barber by trade he was also quite the entrepreneur in the real estate industry.Roy Sr. had a drive that few people could match. It was said that you could get tired just by watching him constantly go. He believed in his heart of hearts that he could make anything happen, he just had to want humble beginnings and little education in Jamaica to the full life he lived here in America.Roy Sr. is survived by his wife Paula, his daughters, Zoey and Elaine and sons Chet and Roy Jr. along with three grandchildren.Roy Sr, enjoyed watching sports of all kinds. Many enjoyed the heated debates about sports that took place at his barber shop in San Francisco over the years. His unique personality will be missed by all who knew him.We invite our family and friends to a Celebration of Life Memorial at Alameda Funeral & Cremation Services located at 1415 Oak Street, Alameda, CA 94501. The memorial will take place on Thursday, December 3, 2015 between 10 and 12 Noon.We would like to express our heartfelt thanks for the sympathy and support our family and friends have extended toward our family during this time of loss. With sincere gratitude, The Adams Family
