Rong-Lih Wang's Obituary
Celebrating the life of Rong-Lih WangRong-Lih Wang was born on the 14th of August in 1943 in Qung-Lai, Sze Chuan in China to loving parents, Hui-Ching Lee and Hsin-Kao Wang. She was the oldest of 6 children; with 2 younger brothers and 3 younger sisters. She lived in Qung-Lai, Sze Chuan until the age of 4, and moved to Taiwan. She studied at National Taiwan University and earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in the study of Literature. She had such a linguistic talent, fluent in many languages, such as Sze Chuan, Shanghainese, Mandarin, Fujian, Cantonese, Taiwanese and English. She also took part in casually learning Spanish and Japanese.In 1967, Rong-Lih married the love of her life, George Chou-Chong Chen. Rong-Lih and her newlywed husband relocated moved to Hong Kong and Rong-Lih began working as a scripture reader at Far East Broadcasting – Hong Kong. After three years, Rong-Lih and George started their family. They had three children, David, Yvonne and May.When the children were a bit older, Rong-Lih started working again. For 10 years, she worked as a secretary at Overseas Trust Bank. During the last couple of years at Overseas Trust Bank, she started her own business of Import and Export Trading. In 1989, Rong-Lih and her family moved to the United States of America. They mostly lived in the bay area; San Mateo, Milpitas and Hillsborough. She found joy for the love of Christ and in 1998 joined the 1st Home of Christ Church – 基督之家第一家, of Menlo Park. She was an avid support in the church community. She joined the Choir, helped with bible study and was well known at church for cooking for the fellowship.In 2005, she retired from her business of 28 years. She spent her mornings preparing for fishing excursions. She would begin her days at 3am and fish in the Monterey Bay. She also enjoyed gardening. Her talent and interest in language also engaged her grandchildren. She would buy Spanish tutorials and share them with her grandchildren.She is survived by loving daughter, May and son-in-law, Patrick; granddaughter, Steff; loving daughter, Yvonne; loving son, David and daughter-in-law, Irene; grandchildren, Adelyn and Evan; loving mother and siblings.
