Romulo “Mulong” H. Loyola, 84, of Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, Philippines, passed away, Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in South San Francisco, CA.Mulong was born on August 28, 1929 in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, Philippines to Andres and Gregoria Loyola. He married the former Serena Camins Paulino of Zamboanga City, Philippines on February 4, 1960 in Quezon City, Philippines. He was an avid tennis player, taking advantage of the mostly agreeable weather in the Philippines to indulge in his favorite sport. He also loved watching tennis matches on television. He loved to dance the cha cha and enjoyed meeting new people and experiencing new things, places and especially food. He loved to laugh and joke around; he was a people person.Mulong is survived by how loving wife Serena, son Daniel, daughter Carol and her husband Gene, daughter Lyn and her husband Raymond, son Jun and his wife Narisa, daughter Tina and her husband Wil, son Carl and his wife Joanne; and his grandchildren: Kim, Krissy, Mikee, Jerard, CJ, Jeffrey and Lily.He was preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Gregoria Loyola, his brother Sergio Loyola and his sister Patria Castillo.A celebration of life service will be held at 9:45 AM on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Saint Augustine’s Catholic Church, 3700 Callan Boulevard, South San Francisco, CA 94080 (650-873-2282).Interment will be held at Skylawn Funeral Home, Hwy 92 at Skyline Boulevard, San Mateo, CA 94402 (650-273-4062).
