So sorry to read of Robert's death. My condolences to all members of the family. May the lord be with be you. Special regards to General Grant and Oscar. May God bless and keep all in his loving arms. From a dear friend, Audrey (Washington) Mahan, Litchfield Park, AZ
Whenever I picture Dad's smile I think of how quick and easy it was. I think of how his whole face lit up and made you light up from within as well. When I think of his laugh I think of the joy for life that bubbled up from within. When I think of his wit, his wisdom, his love I am humbled that he so freely shared himself with me as his adopted daughter. You are loved Dad and you will be missed. ~Karen
Mr. Wiseman will certainly be missed, he was a good friend. He was always happy, caring, kind, thoughtful, a man of God.
When asked by anyone, How do you feel?Robert Lee would reply, " With my fingers." Your sense of humor, your attentiveness in listening to what people say and the comeback that follows; the dedication in serving whether it be family, church or friends when needed. The many adventures you took the children on in your orange Toyota, to San Diego, Hermann's Restraunt for hamburgers, or events at 3098 California Street,Apt.21. Thank you for the many stories you shared about you, Lucky, Bill and Robert; you, Mr. Barry, Bishop Donald Green,my mother and Aunt Ellen at Mission High School; you and your Uncle Oliver in Palo Alto; you and Brooks in the same lodge as Masons; you and Mr Eddie Evans, when he trusted you with his Cadillac and told you don't you ever put cheap gas in his car; you and Pastor W.T. Adams, when he told you what GOD is calling you to do, you can run but you can't hide; but the one story that stands out the most,is when you said, you went to your father to talk with him and asked him for forgiveness and he in turn asked you to forgive him and you said you felt a weight had been lifted off you and you felt free. I'm grateful to GOD that I got to see you behind the glass door outside of your room that Sunday; we both were wearing the same orange T-shirt from the Alzheimer walk, that said,"Caring Is My Super Power",before you went home to be with GOD. The poem that I wrote that hung up on your wall this past year and a half, truly lets me know, ROBERT LEE WISEMAN, you were " WORTH THE FIGHT"! The poem simply says: Many times, I felt like life was throwing me turns, in various directions; that was causing me to doubt, whether or not, I was Worth The Fight. Yet I could still see that GOD WAS STILL, a very present help in the time of trouble; yet fear, anxiety, distress, as a Christian, in this life; kept challenging me to whether or not, I was Worth The Fight. It was the Counsel of The Holy Spirit and the LOVE of GOD, the Awesome sacrifice of JESUS and The Word of GOD, that kept reminding me, that I am, Worth The Fight. Looked beyond the sins, disrespect, unfaithfulness and disobedience that man and I have shown; to offer up HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON,to say, that I am Worth The Fight. I, LORD, don't know of ANYONE,who would be willing to say, that they would lay down their life for a sinner like me, but YOU,O'LORD, by Your Grace and Mercy , said, " You are Worth The Fight!" Please forgive me for taking the gift of Life, you gave me for granted. Help me, LORD, to pray and seek You Face, because YOU, O'LORD, are WORTH THE FIGHT! It is YOUR covenant, between JESUS and YOU, that the sacrifice HE MADE, was not in vain; that YOU, do not make mistakes. For the challenges in this Life, and in this world, is temporary. As long as GOD IS for You, regardless if the world is against you. Having GOD on your side,"IS WORTH THE FIGHT!" I will always love you. I'm grateful for the privilege of GOD placing you in my life, these past 42+years and while your heaven celebrating with family, don't forget about the reminders every now and then , you told me in my duties as usher in your place. Love you, Robert Lee. Love Nucole
Robert was full of fun and talk, but he was always serious in church service. He was our instructor for the Youth Usher Board when Second Union was on Golden Gate Ave. In all my years I have never seen an usher serve with such grace, elegance, and precision. God rest his soul. He will be missed but remembered. Sis. Johnnie Mae Evans
