Robert William Schroeder's Obituary
Robert Schroeder “Cowboy Bob” passed peacefully on April 25, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.He was born in Iowa on March 22, 1933 to Anthony & Helen Schroeder. He & his wife Penny were married in Urbana, Illinois on August 28, 1954.Robert received his BS degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Illinois. He started his career at Boeing Aerospace designing commercial airplanes and went on to work for McDonald Douglas designing and testing missiles. Robert finished a career he very much enjoyed at HR Textron designing missile guidance systems.He and Penny raised their children Richard & Roberta in their Malibu Park home of 25 years.Bob and Penny owned and operated “Cowboy Bobs” feed, tack and clothing store an iconic Malibu landmark for many years.Bob coached his son’s Malibu Little League team, was President of Trancas Riders and Ropers and managed the Corlis Realty Point Dume office in Malibu.Bob is survived by his wife Penny, daughter Roberta Nowitzki, son Richard Schroeder, grandsons, Trevor Nowitzki and Dalton Schroeder and granddaughter Morgan Schroeder.Robert’s service and burial is on Wednesday May 10, 2017 at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo, CA.Dad you are loved and missed.
