Robert Charles Myers' Obituary
Robert “Buzzy” Myers passed away peacefully in his home on May 18, 2026 three months shy of his ninetieth birthday. He was surrounded by his loved ones in his final days, a testament to the love of family he fostered throughout his life.
Buzzy was born August 22, 1936 in San Francisco to Austin and Elsie Myers and two older brothers William “Bill” Myers and Austin “Winnie” Myers, all of whom have proceeded him in death. Buzzy told stories of a childhood playing in the city, shining shoes for officers in the Presidio, and acting as the mascot of his local fire station where he was always “buzzing” around. His family moved to El Granada when he was 9 years old and the coastside soon became central to his life. He attended coastside schools and married his high school sweetheart, Aladina Matteucci Myers. They were married for 56 years and raised three children on the coast, built Bob’s Carwash in 1969, and operated a family construction company, R.C. Myers Incorporated. In retirement, he was an avid traveler with Dina, was a mainstay in all his children and grandchildren’s lives, and was a devoted golfer. He loved his community and he loved his family.
Besides family, service was the main focus of his life. Buzzy was a very active member of the Lions Club, served on the HMB Fire Board, volunteered for Meals on Wheels, visited seniors at the Senior Center, and was a founding member of the Coastside Lutheran Church. Buzzy always had a smile on his face and loved chatting with friends while solving the world’s problems at local coffee shops. In more recent years after Dina’s passing, you may have seen him driving his scooter around town with the license plate “Buzz Off,” or eating out at local restaurants with his family. At home, his favorite pastimes were napping while “watching” golf and collecting identical pairs of white tennis shoes. He had a great sense of humor and was the spice of the community and his family.
He is survived by his children: Bob (Sandy) and Steve (Sue) Myers, and Lisa (George) Molina; seven grandchildren: Rebecca (Cameron) Jeffs, Sarah (Paul) Davis, Kyndra Myers, Shannon (Kelly) Simmons, Max (Paisley) Myers, Alicia and Greg Molina; and seven great-grandchildren who lovingly called him “GG Bob”: Sam, Olivia, McKenzie, Mason, Blake, Eli, and Kennedy.
