Bob was born and raised in South San Francisco and spent a significant amount of his childhood on the Rosaia Family Farm.He and Lorene were married in 1964 and had two children, Bill and Lorie. The family enjoyed many nights and weekends playing Pedro with his mother (Nonie Agnes), who preceded him in death (2009).Bob was an independent thinker and a self-made man. He enjoyed following the news and politics; he was also a history buff. Bob had an adventurous spirit especially with aviation; He enjoyed skydiving, taking balloon rides in Reno, and rode gliders in Napa. For over forty years each September, he and Lorene attended Reno Air Races. Bob was attracted to classic cars, having designed his own 1932 Ford coupe. He ventured into business, RLM Company, SSF and built the "roll off dumpster" for garbage trucks. After twenty-one years, Bob retired from the Water Department of the City and County of San Francisco, as an operating engineer. His many pleasures included: the outdoors, Lake Tahoe, their property in Copperopolis, planting trees, listening to "old time" radio/TV and reading the daily newspapers in his truck.Bob is survived by his wife Lorene, his children, Bill and Lorie, siblings Joan Stewart, Agnes, Willie and John Murphy and many relatives and close friends.A special thank you to Dr. Aditi Patel and the 7th floor Oncology Unit at Peninsula Hospital for their care and support.
