Dr. Robert George Hayden's Obituary
Dr. Robert George Hayden, 93, of Redwood City, CA passed away on January 25, 2019. Dr. Hayden was born on August 23, 1925 in Vienna, Austria, the only child of Jacques and Elly Helizcer. Dr. Hayden was a Seargent in the United States Army during World War II. Dr. Hayden was awarded the Bronze Star Medal in August, 1945 for his heroism in combat. He was honorably discharged in June, 1946.Dr. Hayden received his B.S. from the University of Bridgeport and his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. He was a long time tenured professor at the Graduate School of Social Work at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. He is survived by Chizuko Izawa, his wife of over four decades and his daughter, Althea Fuhr. The family would like to thank VITAS Hospice Care, Colma Cremation and Skylawn Memorial Park where Dr. Hayden’s ashes were scattered on February 6, 2019.
