ROBERT "ROB" JOSEPH GOODWIN09/11/1951 - 07/26/2010Resident of BelmontDied unexpectedly at his home on July 26th at the age of 58. Rob was a longtime Belmont resident and owned Goodwin Carpet & Upholstery Cleaners for over 25 years.He was the beloved husband of Bonnie L. Goodwin, devoted and loving father of Brian (daughter-in law Serena) and Jeffrey Goodwin (daughter-in-law Marjorie), and caring step-father to Candice and Colleen Hansen.He was born on September 11, 1951 to Harold Sr. and Helen Goodwin in San Mateo. Rob was immensely proud to be one of six children and is survived by his brothers, Harold Jr. and Steve Goodwin; and sisters Patricia and Jeanette Goodwin and Theresa Gotelli; he was equally proud to be an uncle to numerous nephews and nieces and thoroughly enjoyed relationships with other family members and friends. After working for several years for COIT Carpet Cleaning, Rob decided to start his own company to provide for his family and generations to follow. He enjoyed years of successful client relationships and truly enjoyed providing the highest level of customer service and quality work, and he greatly appreciated his customer feedback, thank you notes, and referrals. His youngest son, Jeffrey Goodwin, will proudly carry on the family business.Rob will be remembered for his warm and generous nature, his wry sense of humor and his memorable laugh and smile, his loyalty and unconditional support and respect for his family and friends, his passion for the SF Giants and his love of the outdoors - especially spending time in Twain Harte where enjoyed relaxing at his cabin, walking in the woods with his beloved dog Bella, and soaking up the sun on the golf course.Family and friends are welcomed to attend the memorial services being held on Sunday, August 1st, at Skylawn/Lifemark Center.
