Robert Jerome Alves' Obituary
With sadness in our hearts, we say goodbye to Robert Alves, Bob or Bobby to his friends and family. He passed away on August 5, 2018 surrounded by loving friends and family.Bob was born on February 19, 1938 in Los Banos, CA. After bravely battling Wegener’s disease for many years, it was time for him to reunite with his parents Serino and Emily Alves, brothers Donald, John and Frank Alves, and sister Elizabeth (Jim) Burnell and nephew Steven Alves. He is survived by his sisters, Jean (Daniel) DeSa and Yvonne (Donald) Paradiso and nieces and nephews Stephanie Alves, Charmane Trist, Jerome DeSa and Jeanine (Dusty) Young. He is also survived by his extended San Francisco family Andy and Elsie Low and their children Jennifer (Nick) Demuth and Michelle (Greg) Pon and grandchildren Ethan and Malea DeMuth.After graduating from high school and attending Monterey Peninsula College, Bob served our country in the U.S. Army before settling in San Francisco to begin a successful career as a dental laboratory technician and laboratory owner. He was President of Porcelain Studio, Inc. from 1965 until 2015 when he semi-retired, continuing to work until March 2018. Bob enjoyed long walks by the San Francisco Bay Shoreline, fine dining and vacations to Las Vegas and Disneyland, but mostly enjoyed the company and conversation of close friends and family.We extend our sincere and heartfelt thanks to the compassionate and caring staff of Mission Hospice & Home Care for the wonderful care they provided to Bob during these last months.Memorial donations in the name of Robert Alves can be made to:Mission Hospice & Home Care111 16th AvenueSan Mateo, CA 94402
