Richmond Earl Curry's Obituary
Richmond Earl Curry was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and became the last surviving siblings of his three sisters and six brothers. He was born to Watson and Nellie Curry on April 2, 1926. Beloved husband of Eleanor Williams for 67 years, the family who love him dearly are Brenda (Bruno), Bonnie deceased (Chuck), Barbara (Frank), Richmond, (Carol), James (Laurie), William (Mindy), Paul (Gloria), David and 23 grandchildren and 15 great grand children. He is also survived by countless nieces and nephews throughout the United States. He was the Captain of the football team, where he graduated from Sumner High School, and attended Kentucky State College. A life-changing moment was moving to San Francisco away from the segregated south. The family became members of Bay View Lutheran Church. Earl carried his family to worship God. He worked for White-Cliff Builders, becoming a Journey Carpenter and later a Foreman in San Mateo County. Next he became a General Contractor. He was a loving spiritual husband, a magnificent father and a hardworking man. He built 33 North Fremont Place, 'House of love' in San Mateo, for his family. Enjoying life, during his free moments he liked attending church, fishing, and the race track, the Casino, traveling in his camper, going to the movies and dancing. Among his artistic endeavors, he decorated a live Christmas tree, made a cross for Jesus, celebrated all the holidays and definitely liked 4th of July picnics. He believeth in supporting and teaching young people positive ways of living, training young men to become carpenters. One of his top protégés is Carl Brown that he sincerely loved. Favorite expressions: If you have the faith of a mustard seed, you can do anything. Insanity is inherited you get it from your kids. Everybody needs somebody sometimes. I have given my best. Lord, almighty, I need to rest.
