Renee D. Riser's Obituary
Renee D. Riser was born in Detroit Michigan on November 12, 1953, to the union of Robert E. and Lois M. Lee. Her mother later married Ernest L. Daniels. Renee was one of four siblings: Antoinette, Phyllis Jean, Ester Renee, and Dimietri Rose. The family subsequently moved to San Diego, CA where Renee attended and graduated from Lincoln High school in San Diego, California.
Renee graduated from California State University Los Angeles, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in graphic design 1977. Renee worked in the tech industry for several years as a graphic design artist.
On April 27,1996 Renee married Isaac aka (Ike) Riser in Fremont California. With Renee having one son (Brian Porter) and Ike having two sons (Christopher and Anthony Riser), together they raised 3 boys to adulthood. This (God Blessed) blended family moved to Union City, California in 1997 where they lived until moving to Temecula in 2020. Renee and Ike relocated back to Northern California in 2021. They settled in Brentwood, California until Renee transitioned on January 7, 2026.
Renee attended Fremont Bible Fellowship, under the tutelage of Pastor Horacio Jones in Fremont California for several years and was later joined by Ike after their marriage in 1996. There they both served the Deacon Ministry in various capacities. Renee served as a deaconess until 2008 when Renee and Ike joined The Well Church in Dublin California where they were active in various ministries. Renee and Ike together attended the Rock School of Ministry in Dublin, California and graduated in 2010.
In 2014, Renee and Ike became founding members of New Beginnings Community Church under Pastor Hurmon Hamilton in Mountain View, California until the church relocated to Redwood City, California. There Renee served with her husband in the Baptism Ministry as well as the First Aid Ministry and Life groups.
Renee joined the family of Destiny Christian Fellowship in Fremont, California in 2020 under the leadership of Pastor Paul Sheppard, and Pastor Troy Goode.
Renee was also active in various organizations. She was active in a nationwide women’s walking team known as Girltrek, walking a few miles daily as a way of staying fit. Renee was a member of a local snow ski club (All Seasons) before joining the San Jose snow ski club (Fire & Ice), part of the National Brotherhood Black Skiers.
She enjoyed skiing, which was also the precursor to how she met and married her husband, Ike. Renee enjoyed her hobbies such as making diapers and towel cakes for anyone who needed one. She would often give them to people just as a token of Love. She was also devoted to specific causes such as the Alzheimer’s Association and Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Renee also enjoyed traveling. Through the 30 plus years together, Renee and Ike traveled the world, totaling visitation to 12 different countries. Renee, like her mother, loved to dance and dance she did, even if by herself in the kitchen.
She is survived by her husband Ike Riser, three sons: Brian Porter, Christopher Riser, Anthony Riser. One sister: Dimietri Hollimon, brother in-law Rob Hollimon, two daughter in-laws: Michelle and Kayla, four grandchildren: Zion, Zariah, Cameron, Cali. and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and several devoted and loving friends.
She will always be remembered for her heartfelt genuine care and love for people. A sweet soul who loved her family and friends and was a true “Proverbs 31” woman. Though she will be missed, she will never be forgotten.
