Rene A. Conrad's Obituary
Rene' A. Conrad ~ Resident of San Mateo, 89 years young, passed away peacefully at home with his wife Janie by his side. Rene was the oldest of four children, born to the late Nick and Katrina Conrad, in Germany, 1920. The Conrad's moved to the US where he attended Amundsen High School in Chicago, IL. From there, Rene' enlisted in the Army, through his R.O.T.C. program, serving in WWII. He trained at Fort Ord in Monterey, CA and served in the South Pacific, receiving an honorable discharge as 1st Sergeant. Rene' later attended the Art Institute of Chicago. Rene' is survived by his brother Herb, Walter and predeceased by his sister Lori. He also leaves behind his beloved wife, of 21 years, his children Claudia, Guy, Heidi and Janie's daughter's Victoria and Christie.Lovingly known as “Papa”, "Grandpa" and "Opa" by his grandchildren Michelle, Sherry, Cameron, Taylor and Marley. Rene' was a talented artist and inventor. Honored by the San Mateo Arts Council for his service on the Board of Directors from 1979-1985. He was the founder and President of Dynaloc and Dynapower Corporation, providing engineering, conveyor tracking components and conveyor design for industries nation wide. Friends and Family are invited to attend the service on Friday 1/29/2010, at 1 PM, at Lifemark Center @ Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo, a reception will follow. Rene' will be greatly missed by many, never to be forgotten.
