I had the pleasure of taking art classes from Mrs Demas after school in her home. We all had so much fun making all kinds of arts and crafts with this kind, talented. generous woman! Carla was my friend from West school and I remember attending her epic birthday parties! She was manning the Career Center when I walked in around 1986, a very generous and sweet person. I remember her taking extra time and suggesting many vocational tracks, always smiled at me. Sincerely appreciate these kinds of rare and beautiful people.
My deepest condolence to the Demas family. I will forever keep her in my memories as one of the first people in this country that showed me they believed in my potential. I was a recipient of her scholarship when I graduated from Burlingame High School in 1991. There are only a handful of events in our lives that happen in which we create a strong sense of character and belief in ourselves, and that scholarship was one of mine. Thank you Mrs. Dumas!
What wonderful gifted, talented and generous person! Renata was certainly one of my favorites… I think it was kind of mutual and we knew it. This amazing lady with a huge heart impacted the lives of thousands of young people at her beloved “BHS”.
