Reinholdt PetersenReinholdt Petersen, aged 97, a long-time resident of San Carlos died at home in San Mateo on December 8,2013. He was battling Alzheimer’s disease,Reinholdt was born in Denmark and moved to America when he was four years old. He served our country in World War 2, in the 41st infantry. After the war, he met Ebba at a Danish American Dance. After only 3 months, they were married. The couple was married for 39 years, until Ebba was taken by cancer. Reinholdt is survived by his 4 daughters Karen, Sharon , Theresa, and Paula, his 6 grandkids, and 8 great- grandchildren.Reinholdt retired from construction at 62 years of age. He really enjoyed his retirement and led a very active life. He played cards, horse- shoes, pool, and even was on a bowling league. For many years, he also enjoyed going to the San Carlos Senior Center for meals and dancing.Most of all he loved to dance. For years, Ebba and Reinholdt took dance classes at the San Carlos Park and Recreation Department. On weekends, they attended a variety of local ballroom dance venues. Pete would love to dance all night. Perhaps he is dancing somewhere right now. Reinholdt will be joining is wife Ebba at Skylawn. No services will be held. Pete will be remembered in the hearts of his family. In his honor, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
