Raymond Barnica's Obituary
Raymond Barnica was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 23, 1969. His early childhood was spent there with his family-until the age of six, at which point his family relocated to Los Angeles, California. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army and after completing his military service, he went on to obtain certifications in Mechanical Avionics at Sierra Academy. At an early age, Ray loved working and building model airplanes and he would hang them from his bedroom ceiling admiring his completed work. So of course it was no surprise he went on to pursue his passion to work on planes. He received various licenses and was even called back to be an instructor at the same institution he graduated from. Shortly after completing his certifications, Ray moved to San Francisco, CA where he stayed for 26 years, working at various airlines always doing what he loved most: repairing planes.Everyone who knew him, knows Ray was always such a happy person. He touched the lives of all those around him, radiating positive energy with a smile that was absolutely contagious. Laughter and joy followed him wherever he went. He was truly a big kid at heart and always had a sense of humor no matter what the situation; he had an array of silly faces he loved to make, along with mottos and phrases so catchy that no one could resist repeating them. His cousin, Christian Nitu, hit the nail on the head in a beautiful card he recently sent to the family: “I spent some time looking at old pictures of Ray and I noticed a common theme in all the pictures— in every one he was smiling, happy and enjoying life around him. I remember every time I was around Ray I was always smiling and laughing; there was never a dull moment…I greatly admire Ray’s ability to make everyone laugh and have a good time… he will always be loved and remembered for having a beautiful personality inside and out.”Raymond Barnica was many things. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a brother-in-law, a godfather, a cousin, a fiance…and a friend to everyone he came in contact with. He will be missed every day by his family and friends. To put it simply, he was the Bomb. He will forever live in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: http://www.demandcurestoday.org/Please follow these directions to make a donation: – Click on “DONATE TODAY saves lives” – Scroll midway down the page to “Honor / Memorial Giving Information” and check the box – On the pulldown, select “In Memory of” – Then type in Honoree Name: “Raymond Barnica” and proceed to fill the rest of the information with your own information: Your Name, Your Address, Your City, Your State, Your Zip Code and A Personal Message you’d like to leave. – Followed by the amount you’d like to Donate (via Visa/Discover/AMEX/MasterCard/Pay Pal – Including in your Information on How you’d like to be recognized for your donation in the Donor Listing – And then click on the “Donate Now” button.Services in his honor will be held on Saturday, July 12th 2014 at 2:00pm at Skylawn Funeral Home.
