Randall Keiichi Arimoto's Obituary
Randall Keiichi Arimoto passed away peacefully on January 27, 2023 surrounded by his loving
family after a week-long battle to survive post-cardiac arrest.
Randy was born on April 25, 1954 in Tokyo, Japan where he developed an early love of
Japanese food and American western movies. He moved to Dallas, Texas as a teenager,
graduating from Kimball High School and meeting the love of his life - the Dallas Cowboys. He
and the Cowboys proceeded to have a rocky but deeply committed relationship for the next 50
years.
Ever loyal, Randy followed his parents to the Bay Area where he graduated from San Francisco
State University as valedictorian with a BS in Business Administration. After working in the
Internal Revenue Service as an auditor, he decided to pursue the second love of his life - a
career as a tax accountant.
Randy’s career as a CPA took him around the world and back to Tokyo, where he worked at
Arthur Andersen & Co. There, he met the third and final love of his life - his wife, Yoko. After
countless laughs together, they married and moved back to the Bay Area, where he opened his
own accounting firm and started a family.
Randy was the proud father of three children: Jenny, Deanne, and Brent. He was a doting father
who attended every swim meet, water polo game, football championship, and piano recital, no
matter the time or day. Randy’s quick wit and contagious giggle won over other parents, while
his penchant for bringing elaborate snacks to his children’s sports games won over the kids.
When you look up “lovable” in the dictionary, you will find a picture of Randy.
Randy is preceded in death by his father, Kiyoshi, and his mother, Ann. He is survived by his
wife, Yoko, and children, Jenny, Deanne, and Brent, and sister, Connie. A celebration of life will
be held at a later date.
