In Memory of My Loving Grandmother, My grandmother will always be a part of my life, having raised me and taken care of me since the day I was born. She was not only my grandmother, but one of my best friends who I literally shared everything with. I am proud to say that even when I was in college and currently in graduate school out of state, I was able to call her multiple times a week to have a casual conversation with her and share my experiences in school and my concerns with her. I remember speaking to her two days before she was struck with the stroke, she was happy and cheerful and jokingly telling me to treat her out to dinner and taking care of her when I graduate from school, which I always wanted to do. This is the one thing I truly regret that I won’t be able to do. I will always be saddened knowing how I will never be able to do that for her but I will be happy knowing I was able to spend so much time with my grandmother, my best friend, my motivator when she was healthy whenever I can. She was always very understanding and compassionate towards others and she spoiled me like no other. I will always remember all the good times with her. She is one of the very reasons why I am, who I am, what I am, and even where I am today. As of right now, I am a pharmacy student on rotations at a coumadin clinic, working with clinical pharmacists to help prevent strokes, heart attacks in patients who have had a previous stroke, heart attack, atrial fibrillation (more prone to future strokes, heat attacks, etc). She is the reason why I picked this rotation; so I am more knowledgeable in this disease state to better help patients when I am a pharmacist. She is and will always be my motivation to work hard everyday of my life and do the best I can in everything that I do. Even though you have passed away, you will always be in my heart grandma.
