Ping Duan Chao's Obituary
Ping Duan Chao–loving wife, devoted mother of three, and beloved grandmother of two–passed away peacefully on October 25, 2017. She was loved by all, admired for her courageous spirit, vibrant personality, and boundless energy.Born in Xi’an, China on December 7th, 1954, she grew up with four sisters and two brothers. After attending Xi’an Foreign Language University, she married Wei Yang Chao in 1981. Together, they moved to Berkeley, California. She balanced working full-time as a financial analyst, completing an MBA, and raising three children after settling down in Fremont, California. In 2000, she moved to Beijing, where she worked as an international business consultant, and spent the following years flying between China and the US.Ping selflessly cared for others around her, always sharing her time and support for others who needed it, especially children. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Operation Smile.Please join us in celebrating her extraordinary life. The service will be held at promptly at 10am November 1, 2017 at Skylawn Memorial Park.
