Phoebe Villanueva's Obituary
Phoebe Villanueva of Pittsburg, CA passed away in Daly City on June 19, 2013 of organ failure. She was born on April 6, 1943 in Dumangas, Iloilo, Philippines to Rafael and Juliana Dinglasa. She attended West Negros University and earned a Bachelor's in Science in Elementary Education. While there, she was a cadet sponsor and a majorette. After graduating she served as an educator at Grace Christian High School in Quezon City.She married Enoch Villanueva on May 1, 1971 at Bacolod City, Philippines & immigrated to the United States in 1975. Shortly thereafter, she became an educator at Highland Christian School in San Bruno, California. In addition, she also ran her own business, Phoebe's Care Home, for twenty-seven years.Active in the church and community she was a member of the Board of Directors for the Dumangas Association of Northern California. She was an active member of Faith Bible Church in San Francisco, First Baptist Church in Marseilles, Illinois, Park Victoria Baptist Church in Milpitas and a founding member of its Filipino Mission. Later in life she also attended Grace Bible Fellowship of Pittsburg.She is survived by her husband, Enoch Villanueva; her daughter May Woodward, married to Owen Woodward; her son Jan Villanueva, married to Sheila Villanueva; her grandchildren Philip and Sophia Woodward and Gideon Villanueva. She is also survived by all five of her siblings: Rollie Dinglasa, Elmo Dinglasa, Annette Marcelo, John Dinglasa and Noel Dinglasa.
