Phillip Ralph Luna's Obituary
Phillip Luna, 82, died peacefully on Thursday, March 15, 2018 shortly after his daughter left his bedside.Phillip was born October 22, 1935 in Santa Paula, California. He was the youngest of nine. He grew up in Hollister, California and proudly worked in the fruit orchards with his father.Phillip was retired after having a successful career working in heavy construction for Operating Engineers Local #3.Phillip was a resident of Pacifica since 1970 where he lived with his beloved wife of 43 years, Jerene Luna, who predeceased him July 19, 2014.Phillip was an avid San Francisco Giants and 49er fan. He loved farmer’s markets and was well known in the community for giving away fruits and vegetables to fellow neighbors and his friends.Phillip is survived by his daughter Elizabeth, son-in-law Derek Dubuque, granddaughter, dozens of nieces and nephews, his good friend Jim and his beloved cat Sophie.Phillip’s funeral service will be held Saturday, March 24th at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo. The viewing is from 9:30-10:30am; service at 10:30-11:30am with burial at 11:30am with reception to follow. Guests are encouraged to wear 49er/SF Giants gear.In lieu of flowers please send donations in his memory to: Junior Giants at Giants Community Fund.
