Philip Ruttenberg's Obituary
Beloved husband of Zelda for 65 years. Children Ronald (Jenny) Ruttenberg, Michael (Janet) Ruttenberg and Donna Martindale. Grandchildren Aaron, Greta, Rebecca, Kevin and Nathan Ruttenberg and Rachael and Ross Martindale. Sister Kay (Art) Richmond and many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his brother Robert Ruttenberg. Phil was born in Philadelphia and moved to Petaluma. At the age of 20, Phil married the love of his life Zell. He was drafted into the army and spent time in Okinawa Japan during the Korean War. When he returned, Phil completed his education at San Francisco State University. He and Zell started a family, and settled in Pacifica, CA. When the children were grown, they moved to Millbrae, CA. Phil retired at age 59 after a 30 year tenure as a Payroll Manager at UCSF. He was an avid 49ers and Giants fan. Phil and Zell loved to travel and took many cruises around the world. Phil also loved to spend time with his family and took great pride in his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Phil was loved by many and will be deeply missed. Services will be held at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo on Sunday, Feb 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. is appreciated.
