Peter Parkhurst's Obituary
Peter Holden Parkhurst, of Foster City, CA, passed away at the age of 89on July 27, 2020, at Stanford Hospital. Peter was born September 28, 1930in New York City to Winthrop Parkhurst and Grace Mary Moore. Under his first and middle names,Mr. Parkhurst enjoyed a career as a child actor, appearing in “The Great Man” and “On Borrowed Time” alongside legendary actor John Barrymore. As an adult, he worked in a number of professions, including as an architect, a fine artist, and an illustrator of book covers.
His parents, Grace and WinthropParkhurst, brother MichaelParkhurst, and his beloved wife of 39 years, Nina, have predeceased him; he is survived by sisters Kathleen Ricks, Suzy Burchard, and Priscilla Moore,and severalnieces, nephews, and cousins, including Monica Sanford, Christina Barber, Malcolm Parkhurst, and Christopher Parkhurst. A memorial service in celebration of Mr. Parkhurst’s lifewill be held at St. John’s Cemetery in SanMateo, CAat a later date.
