Paz Robles Torres' Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paz Robles Torres on January 05, 2024.
Mom
Paz Robles Torres passed away peacefully on January 5th, 2024 at home in Roseville, California. She was born on February 19, 1928 in Baras, Rizal, Philippines to Placido Llagas Robles and Marciana Velgado Robles.
She is survived by her loving children Fe Dinozo (Edwin), Helen Asido, Bernard Jr. (Nemie), Christian (Angelica), Rey (Denise) and Jane Caliyo (Dennis), daughter-in-law Maxine, grandchildren Gillian, CJ, Jenifer, Bernadeth, Brenda, Lizabette, Brian, Kelsey, Jared, Joven and Arden, great grandchildren Angill, Olivia, Caleb, Brooklyn and Antwon. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Bernardo Torres, son Bernie Torres, daughter Cynthia Torres and grandson Ian Andrew Torres.
Paz and her husband Bernardo immigrated to the US (San Francisco) in 1968 with a commitment to making sure their children had the opportunity to thrive. As an elementary school teacher in the Philippines, Paz valued education so it was obvious that she always encouraged her children to excel in school and graduate from college. Her family was always her priority especially her grandchildren.
Paz had a personality that would warm your heart. She brought that same caring nature to her later career as a nursing assistant at Central Gardens convalescent home in SF where she worked for over 20 years.
Her passions included cooking for her family and friends. When she was not cooking, you would find her tending to her beautiful garden where she grew an abundance of fruits and vegetables which she always shared. Another excellent skill she had was sewing and crocheting. Every grandchild that was born was given a blanket crocheted by her own hands. This was a testament of how much she cared and loved each of them.
Paz spent her last three years in Roseville in the care of her daughter Jane and Dennis Caliyo.
Those she left behind will remember a Mother, Grandmother and a Friend. Our hearts will be aching for her but we know that she is at peace with her husband once again. Services have been held.
