Patrick Denis Scannell's Obituary
Patrick Denis Scannell passed away peacefully and joined his beloved wife, Clarice in rest on January 14, 2013. Patrick was born in San Francisco on November 9, 1937. He was the eldest son of Patrick Michael Scannell and Marina Marie Moreno. They had many interesting stories to pass down to Patrick, about his Irish and Mexican heritage. Patrick's paternal grandparents came to Montreal, Canada and then settled in San Francisco, CA in the early 1900's from County Cork, Ireland. His maternal grandmother came to San Francisco from Esquinapa, Mexico in the early 1900's.Patrick graduated from MissionHigh School and served in the US Army. In 1968, Patrick married Clarice (Cusick) his wife of 27 years and settled in Daly City, California to raise their family. He worked for the San Francisco Muni as a Muni Railway LRV operator. In 2007, he moved to Broomhall, Pennsylvania. He was an active member at his parish, GraceLutheranChurch in Drexel Hill, PA.He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and fixing cars. He was a Thoroughbred racehorse owner and thoroughbred handicapping aficionado. He was known for telling a great story and regaled many tales from his childhood and his life experiences. Patrick will be remembered for his sense of humor, his kindness and generosity.Patrick is survived by: Donald Haddan (son) and his wife Ginger, Granddaughters: Jennifer and Rachel Haddan, and Great grandsons: Sean and Brody; Sister: Dr. Amy Aquarian, her husband Zarathustra, their daughter Alayha; Nephew: Mitchell Silver, his wife Nanci, their son, Christian; Niece: Lily and her husband Richard Schwartz , their daughter Lyric; and Brothers: Dennis Scannell, and Joseph Scannell, his wife Rosa, and their children: Marina, Alisa, Valerie, Christine and Joseph.Patrick's family gives special thanks to Alice Bounds (of Broomall, PA) and her family for their friendship and care of Patrick.
