Patrick Bartley Moore's Obituary
Thank you, one and all, for joining with us in the celebration of life for Patrick Bartley Moore. Pat was born on November 9, 1932, in St. Joseph, Michigan to Bartley and Clara Moore. After serving in the Air Force, he completed his Bachelor's Degree at Michigan State. During that time, he met and married his first wife, Jean Ann Baldwin and they had three daughters, Shari, Lauri and Kathi. He spent over 20 years in sales and management for Coulter Electronics, a medical manufacturing firm, living in both California and Florida. After marrying Dorothy Gallee Vinci, with her three children, Noel, Michele and Len, and moving back to California, he began his entrepreneurial career, opening video stores, selling yachts and opening a box store. After retiring from his second career, he began his ancestral research and devoted much more time to his volunteer choices and traveling with Dorothy. Pat Moore lived much of his life in service to others while never forgetting the family he loved. Bulging scrapbooks with mounted snapshots of his life will show you both exotic and historic places around the world. Those travel photos, though, would be interspersed with his photos of his service in the United States Air Force, his Lion's Club and Elks Lodge volunteer activities on behalf of paralyzed veterans, his work as the Sky Londa Volunteer Fire Chief, and finally as a California Highway Patrol Senior Volunteer. It is with the CHP that Patrick likely made his greatest contribution to California, leading the way for safer driving habits among our state's elder drivers through the Senior Driver Awareness Program. Patrick Moore was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He was a cherished, life-long friend to many. Take a look at the very wide circle of friends and family gathered here today, and know that you are among good company. May your memories of Patrick always be both warm and comforting. Our world is, indeed, a better place for his having been here.
