I had the pleasure and memory of going up at a young age being best friends with Michael and always enjoying the love and life Patricia gave! Going to Oakland A’s games with them pool days and family outings she always was such an amazing women, mom, and person. Michael’s birthday is tomorrow and I haven’t spoken to him in years and it came across my mind to see if I could reach out and to find this out breaks my heart. Pat you are a huge part of my childhood rescuing me when my bikes wheel fell off at the railroad tracks your family has an everlasting impact on my heart and I can’t but thank you for all the love and openness you showed!! The fact Michael and I’d friendship started in kindergarten over some cheese in a book bag and we became best of friends is amazing!!! I wish you all well and Michael Happy Birthday!! Pat is the only member of the Marsey family that I have met. She was part of our 6 am workout group. In the first note I saw from Steve about Pat’s passing he said she was the “center of the family”. Well, she was the center of our workout group too. She was always happy. She had funny little habits – like talking instead of counting. It hard to count when you are talking. Every now and then we would ask “Pat, how many reps have you done?” We knew she would not know but, nonplused, she would say “I have the same number as you have.” I do not remember her complaining. However, we knew the things she loved – Steve, her kids, Brodie, her car, Betty’s Breakfast, Monterey, the Warriors, the Sharks, her home, tennis, cooking, the Miami Hurricanes, and, yes, us, her workout buddies. We were enriched by her presence and blessed by her friendship. In her pleasant, friendly, happy way she got our days off to a good start. We loved her too. About the best thing I can offer now is that I wish for you long and happy memories and, hopefully, a short period of grief. She will never be forgotten but hopefully the heaviness of your grief will transform to the pleasantness of the memories. Wendell, Alicia, Donna, Bella and the rest of the group
