Dear Frank and family: Though Pat’s passing was expected, I am very sorry to hear the news. Pat’s mother and my mother were close friends in the neighborhood where we lived only a block apart in San Carlos. We were childhood friends growing up in the years of WWII. While I wandered away from the Peninsula, my mother became Pat and Frank’s boys’, “aunt Lil.” Then we would connect at times at the Sequoia reunions and I do remember your 50th wedding anniversary. I am deeply sorry for your loss, Frank and happy to read of Pat’s very good years with family and friends. I send warm love and happy memories to last for you and family. Carol (Robin) Klein

I’ll remember Pat as a woman of uncommon grace and wit. So often I watched her pause in her busy day-to-day duties as First Lady of Stanford Sierra Camp to ask a staffer “How’s it going” and share a laugh. As one of those staffers, I learned much from her about how to be present for people. Folks used to marvel at how well she raised three boys in the midst of the controlled chaos of summer at SSC. Well, yes, but really it wasn’t just three – she helped raise 40 or so kids every summer. Bless you, Pat, and thanks. Dear Frank and family, My condolences go out to the Hildreth family. This time of year makes the loss even worse. I have such lovely memories of Pat. She was always full of laughter, supportive, happy, and helpful. I was sorry Pat and Frank could not make it to the last reunion. SSC changed my life for the better. It was a turning point for me and Pat Hildreth was one of the people who contributed to my growth.
