Patricia V. Edwards' Obituary
Patricia (beloved confident, Mother, Wife and Friend) peacefully passed away at the tender age of 66 on May 10th at her home in Emerald Hills with her husband and brother Kennard by her side following a tenacious fight with Cancer. Patricia is survived by her husband, Clifford, and sons Jonathan and Michael, brothers Carl and Kennard and sister-in-law Tina.The Daughter of Ivy Leona Darby of Jamaica and Henry Griffith Edwards of Antigua. Patricia was a 1st generation American. Born and raised in Brooklyn, She was a consummate New Yorker, tough and unyielding in nature she balanced a charm and sweetness with a quick wit and corrective bite. She was as ambitious a supporter and counselor to her husband, children and many friends as she was in her own personal and professional pursuits. Following NYU she joined IBM in 1973 as a Systems Engineer in New York, she later moved to Chicago and then to San Francisco where she joined Sprint (where she met her husband Cliff) and later a fledgling Visa where she helped to develop the banking infrastructure. She continued her career at American Express and as an executive consultant for many years thereafter.A staunch supporter of liberal politics and a recurring volunteer at the local polling station, she also believed in and supported many charitable organizations including Toys for Tots, Glide Memorial and Harvest Food Bank. She enjoyed time with her family, her beautiful home, traveling and was an exquisite cook.Her voice, perspective and the warmth of her smile are missed dearly.
