Patricia W. Deng's Obituary
Patricia Deng, peacefully passed away on January 16, 2020 at the age of 79 (or 80 according to Chinese tradition). She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Ge; her daughters, Michelle and Danielle; her grandchildren, Emily, Ben, Aiden; her siblings, Olivia, Richard, and Peter; her nieces and nephews, Jason, Jerome, Julian, Cecilia, Derek, Elaine and Jacqueline. She is predeceased by her sisters, Julie and Wei-Li.
Patricia was born in Shanghai, China on July 7, 1940. She graduated from high school in Shanghai, and then attended Santa Rosa High School in Macau in 1961. She moved to the United States and attended the University of Maine to study Medical Technology.
In the summer of 1970, she attended summer school at Stanford, where she met her husband in the student union cafeteria. In 1971, they married in Phoenix, Arizona. Not too long after, they had their first child, Michelle, and moved to the Bay Area. A decade later, they had their second child, Danielle.
Patricia pursued a variety of hobbies including ceramics, painting, flower arranging, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and playing piano. She also enjoyed volunteering for her children’s extracurricular activities and school programs, as well as traveling.
