Patricia Ann Cureton's Obituary
Patricia was born in Oceanside, CA to proud parents Jerome B. Williams and Velma L. Williams. Patricia lived the majority of her life in the San Francisco Bay Area. At the age of 15 she was baptized and became a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in East Palo Alto. She was a graduate of San Francisco State University.On September 28, 1990, she gave birth to Nicole Patrice Watkins. On June 30, 2001, she married Hardiman Cureton II. The family moved to Rocklin, CA in 2002. There they attended church and became gracious hosts to a Wednesday Bible Study group in their home.Patricia spent over 20 years as a Human Resources professional. In 2000, she joined Oracle Corporation. As a Director of Human Resources, one of her proudest accomplishments was being a Co-Founder of the Oracle Women’s Leadership (OWL) program.Patricia had an even bigger heart to serve. Her volunteer service included: o Board of Trustees and Chair, Presidential Relations Committee at William Jessup University, Rocklin o Board of Directors and Secretary, Executive Committee – Rocklin Area Chamber of Commerce o Advisory Board – Professional Business Women of California (PBWC) o Member – National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Sacramento ChapterThe Cureton’s recently returned to the Bay Area. They soon began supporting the Youth Department at St John Missionary Baptist Church, Shortly after their return Patricia became ill and fought a courageous battle to the end.Patricia leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Hardiman Cureton II; daughter, Nicole Patrice Murphy; son-in-law, Tyler Murphy; grandchildren, Lyric and Enoch Jerome “EJ” Murphy; parents, Jerome and Velma Williams; and a host of relatives and friends.
