Patricia Ruby Brock's Obituary
Born Ruby Mae Dorsey on February 10, 1927. She was the third of seven children born to Hubert and Helen Mae (Hatley) Dorsey. When Ruby was in her 20s she legally changed her name to Patricia Ruby. She was married four times, in which the first two marriages to S.L Robinson and Charles Allen ended in divorce. The last two marriages Pat was proceeded in death by husbands Clyde Raul and Leonard Brock.Pat was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed sewing clothes for her daughters, family, and friends. She expanded her sewing abilities to making wedding dresses; upholstering furniture and car seats; quilting; crocheting; knitting; needle work; and making stuffed animals. She brought a lot of joy to people through the gifts she made for them. Pat won many ribbons for her works at the San Mateo County Fair, Dixon County Fair, and the State Fair.When raising her daughters, as a divorced woman, she worked the night shift at Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame, as an admitting clerk. She moved to the Sacramento area and lived in Folsom for 25 years before moving into Eskaton FountainWood Lodge Memory Care in Orangevale, in 2009.She is preceeded in death by her parents; brothers, Hubert Jr., Thomas, and Patrick; sisters, Betty Dorrell and Dora Powell. Pat is survived by her four daughters Ginger McGinn (Detroit, MI), Millie Rovetta (Fiore, Redwood City, CA), Patti Allen (Forest Grove, OR), and Judy Specht (Dick, San Jose, CA); brother Michael Dorsey (Arizona); four grandchildren Dennis McGinn (Georgia), Thomas McGinn (South Korea), Elizabeth Meyers (California), and Michael Rovetta (California); nine great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Celebration of Life will take place at Skylawn Memorial Park at 1:00pm, Wednesday, February 21st. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers donations to Eskaton Foundation (www.eskaton.org/foundation/) would be greatly appreciated.
