NinSing Yeung's Obituary
Nin-Sing Yeung passed away peacefully on June 18, 2013 at the El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, CA, with his family by his side.He was born on December 27, 1937 in the City of Manila in the Philippines to a scholar and merchant family. His family moved to China in the 1940s and he spent most of his school years in Xiamen. After finishing middle school, he bypassed high school and was admitted to Xiamen University by a special entrance exam. He was elected class president in his department and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in History. In his early career, he taught at universities in China and helped in the family leather business in Manila. After settling in Hong Kong, he spent decades working for companies in agricultural engineering, specializing in technological advances in fodder production and processing. He retired as a general manager from Chia Tai Group, a subsidiary of Charoen Pokphand, in 1996 and subsequently moved to the Bay Area with his wife to join their three daughters.Nin-Sing is survived by his wife Chun-Kui, daughters Minerva (with husband Boon-Lock), Evelina (with husband Kok-Wui), and Athena, and three grandchildren Catherine, Arthur, and Justin. In early June, he and his wife celebrated the 50th anniversary of their first meeting. They were married for 46 years. He is remembered as the most loving husband, father, and grandfather by his family, and as a kind, generous, and highly intellectual man by his siblings, relatives, and friends.A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on June 28, 2013 at 11am at the Pacific Chapel at Skylawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park in San Mateo.
