Nancy Susan Shaffer's Obituary
Nancy S. Shaffer died in La Grange California on Friday, September 9th, at 9:20 pm from a thoracic aneurysm.Nancy was born in San Francisco on May 3rd, 1945, to parents Jerome and Evelyn Cohen. She graduated Mills High School in 1962 and earned her Associate Degree from San Mateo Junior College. She resided in the East Bay most of her adult life, including Danville and Brentwood. She worked as a flight attendant for United Air Lines, retiring after 28 years of service.She is survived by her husband, Jon, daughter Heidi Olson, step sons Grant and Scott Shaffer, step daughter Meredith Shaffer, her daughter-in-law Patricia Pon, and her grandson Jonathan Shaffer. She is also survived by two sisters, Carolyn Sherfy and Randi Reynolds, and a brother, Richard Cohen.Services will be held in the Crystal Chapel at Skylawn Memorial Park, Hwy 92 & Skyline Blvd, San Mateo, on Saturday, September 17th. Visitation 12:00 to 1:00, service begins at 1:00, internment at 2:45, followed by reception and buffet. All proceedings take place at Skylawn Memorial Park.Donations in lieu of flowers to the John Ritter Foundation for aortic health.
