My husband, Harry, met Myron when they were both students at San Mateo College in about 1957. My husband loved Myron. Myron introduced him to chess and philosophical discussion. Myron was the one who started clubs and discussion groups. He enlarged Harry’s world and encouraged him to be a critical thinker. Myron was a true friend.
I met Myron at Ardenwood Historic Farm in Fremont over 10 years ago he told me he had a video of my godmother who was named Laura Leach showing all of her Victorian dresses that she collected throughout the 1900’s. I am sorry that I never got a chance to see that video. I found my ring to be a delightful person.
Myron has been my best friend through Grammar School, High School and College. My love goes out to him wherever he might be. He was so knowledgeable that he enriched my life in those early years. He could tell me how many moves ahead when we were playing chess that he would checkmate me. He was caring and helped me soothe my wounds during a certain trauma in my life during those times. I just heard of Myron’s passing and I am heartbroken. He was such a source of learning and inspiration. I will always treasure the opportunity we had to share history and stories, laughs and conversations, with him at the Marina Library.
