Mitchell Edward Bouyer Sr., 77, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at his home in Concord, California at 1:43 p.m. Mitchell was born on April 25, 1941 to Mitchell Duke Bouyer and Eunice Biggs Bouyer in Mobile, Alabama and raised in Montgomery Alabama, one of 7 children.Mitchell “Doc” served in the U.S. Military as a Navy Corpsman and a medic for the Marines both here and abroad starting just one day after turning 17, from 1958-1964. He met his beautiful wife of 55 years, Martha Elena Pineda, at a bus stop on the corner of Haight and Fillmore in San Francisco in 1964. He primarily worked as a cement mason and a carpenter. He helped build Bart and the Bank of America in San Francisco and the Bay Area. He was constantly helping friends and family along the way with various house projects and repairs. He had 40 acres in upper lake before the fire came years ago. He cared for all animals and loved to fish and collect cars. He spent many years remodeling our home at 234 Aspen Ave. in SSF, and building a home at 88 Beatrice Rd. in Brisbane, CA.Mitchell is survived by his wife Martha Elena, their 5 children and 7 grandchildren: Starr Elena and Richard Henry; Donna Renee, Tony and Marcus Evan LaFrance; Mitchell Edward Jr., Nadine Serrano, Genene Monique, Richard Anthony, Guillermo Miles and Mitchell Paul Bouyer; Shawn Duke, Kristina, Jasmine Elena, Sofia Kristina and Rosalee Sarah Bouyer; Jennifer Denise, Marcos, Ashley Maria de los Angeles, Francisco Adolfo, Mia Elena and Dylan Alexander Abea; his brother, Eddie Balkcom; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents and younger brothers and sisters, Faye, Frank, Allen Lee, James Earl and Eva Mae Bouyer.Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 at All Souls Catholic Church in So. San Francisco, California at Noon with Fr. Kazimierz Abrahamczyk officiating. A reception will follow at the Fraternal Order of Eagles at 185 Visitation Ave. in Brisbane, California.
