Mildred "Millie" Patterson's Obituary
Mildred "Millie" Donna Lee Patterson passed away peacefully on Friday, July 21, in San Diego, California. She was 88 years old. Millie was born on August 9, 1934 in Billings, Montana to parents William Frey Sr. and Helena Lena Anna Menz. She grew up as an orphan in the Montana Home for Children with her sister, Gleni, and brother William, in Twin Bridges, Montana. She attended Billings High School, in Billings, Montana. After leaving Montana, she eventually moved to Burlingame, California and worked for Pan American ("Pan Am") Airlines in the secretarial pool. She met her husband, Frank, through a mutual friend who worked for United Airlines, at which Frank was then employed. They married in 1953 and moved to San Mateo and, during their 62 years together, enjoyed traveling, camping in Yosemite, and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Millie enjoyed participating in her children's scholastic, as well as extracurricular, activities. She was a loving mother and devoted wife who was always supportive of her husband and family. Millie was preceded in death by her husband Frank, brother William, and sister, Gleni. She is survived by her sons Frank, Stephen, David and Robert; 9 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
