Melvina Pellizzer's Obituary
MELVINA (Mina) R. PELLIZZER Passed away peacefully on January 22, 2012, at the age of 94. Mina was born and raised on a farm in Greene County, Iowa. Mina joined the Coast Guard where she spent 4 years of her life doing what she loved the most, cooking and baking. Being discharged in San Francisco, Mina worked for several families in Hillsborough where she met her late husband of 63 years, Angelo A. Pellizzer.Raising two children, Matthew (Lyn) and Annette Mellado (Ray) in San Mateo. Mina spent much of her spare time involved in leadership roles in Camp Fire Girls, Boy Scouts, and school PTA. Mina loved to sew, cook and bake. She was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.Upon retirement Mina and Angelo moved back to Greene County, Iowa to live a peaceful life on the farm. Mina loved watching the wildlife, growing vegetables and planting flowers. Mina enjoyed visiting many of her friends and relatives, though her greatest joy was having her many grandchildren come and visit in the summer.In 2002 they moved back to San Mateo to be closer to their children, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and her many friends and relatives. She will be missed by all. Melvina's family will be gathering on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 10:00am at Skylawn Memorial Park with a Graveside Service to follow at 12:00 noon.
