Mei Sheh's Obituary
Mei Lien Sheh, 69, of El Sobrante, California, passed away December 16, 2019, with her family by her side. She was born to the late Jinhua Hsu, father, and late Yumei Jiang, mother, in Taiwan. She graduated from nursing school and was a nurse for over 40 years.
She was married to David Sheh in 1975 in Tokyo, Japan. She and David immigrated to Berkeley, California, in 1978, and later relocated to El Sobrante, California. Mei Lien is survived by her husband, David, her sons, William and Calvin, and her grandchildren, Gabrielle and Liam.
She met her future husband when she was in the 5th grade, when they attended the same school in Chungli, Taiwan. While they went on to attend separate schools and lost touch, they were destined to reconnect when both of them attended graduate school in Japan.
Mei Lien will be remembered for her loving, kind, and caring nature to her family and friends. She was a deeply spiritual and religious person, and was a member of I-Kuan Tao for over 30 years. She encouraged her husband to open a temple at their home together, and invited temple members to worship at their home temple.
She greatly loved her grandchildren and, as with all grandmothers, enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren, and cared immensely about their well-being. She was also an amazing and wonderful mother-in-law to her daughters-in-law, Candice and Julie.
The memorial service will be held on January 4, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., at Skylawn Funeral Home, located at Highway 92 and Skyline Blvd., San Mateo, California. If you would like to send flowers or a gift, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers or a gift, to consider making a donation to the Tian-Hua I-Kuan-Tao Foundation, 7811 Orion Lane, Cupertino, CA 95015, in memory of Mei Lien Sheh.
