Mary Ellen Noonan's Obituary
Mary Ellen Noonan, 89, entered into Eternal Life on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Cadence Assisted Living, Millbrae, CA, where she resided for the last 5 years. She died peacefully with family and friends by her side.
Born in Racine, WI, to John and Ann Noonan on April 23, 1937. Later, sisters Patricia and Kathleen joined her family.
After high school, she graduated from St. Joseph's School of Radiology, Milwaukee, WI, where she made life-long friends. She had a “pioneer spirit,” and she and a classmate felt Northern CA calling. They visited many sites along Route 66 to finally arrive in San Francisco and the Peninsula. Her first job was at Peninsula Hospital, then moved on to the San Mateo Medical Clinic and various radiologists' offices, ending her 50+ year career as a Mammographer.
She is survived by sisters Patricia Tyler (Raymond) and Kathleen Bertron (William); nephew John Tyler (Kate); niece Michele Rodman Bilafer (Kurt); great-niece Lauren Bilafer; great-nephew Nicholas Bilafer; godson Mathew Fish (Julie); and Tyler Fish.
She was preceded in death by her parents and long-time companion Raymond G. Fish. She was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church until her move to Millbrae.
Mary will live in our hearts forever for the love she shared with her family. Thank you to Julie Fish for her nursing counsel, love, and support to Mary and our family; Cadence caregivers; VITAS Hospice; and caregivers Viki and SA for their caring and kindness.
