Mary Ellen Greer June 27, 1925 – January 23, 2015Mary Ellen Greer (née Endicott) passed away the night of Friday, January 23, 2015 under the caring watch of hospice. As one of the first kidney-removal patients while a young woman, she was expected to not live past age 35, but she proved one kidney is plenty enough. In her long, full life she married Charles Wilbert Greer III, raised four children – Jane Greer Scott, Charles Wilbert Greer IV, Ellen de Simone, and Cortland Greer – hosted many a pool day for her numerous grandchildren, and even saw a few great-grandchildren come into this world. She was an accomplished quilter, avid bridge player, and could often be found in her garden. She was sharp and witty. She was a friend to many.Mary Ellen joins her sister and parents in the afterlife, and leaves behind a husband and family, grateful for the time had together – it was beyond expectation.A service will be held in her honor at Skylawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park on Sunday Feb 8, 2015: Viewing at 10am and funeral service at 11am with a reception to follow.
